General Operation
-
Confirm that the device is connected properly (USB cable is plugged in to both the unit and computer).
-
Confirm that the USB cable is not damaged in any way.
-
Confirm that the device has sufficient battery life (not applicable to GC2T/HMT/Kiosk). To check the current charge of the GC2 battery, using the LCD keypad on the display, press the left most arrow key and then navigate to the “About” menu screen within the display settings menu. The current battery charge will be displayed in volts. The GC2's Nickel Metal Hydride battery is considered fully charged at 7.6 volts and higher. The battery will need to be recharged if displays a reading of 7.1 volts or lower.
IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS
-
While the GC2 device is plugged into a Windows computer and powered on, go to the computer's START MENU > DEVICES AND PRINTERS and scroll down to unspecified devices and look to see if " NGLM MSC interface device " is displayed. If "NGLM MSC interface device" is displayed and shows no associated errors, the GC2 device is recognized by your computer and the problem may be your flash module or the length of USB cable being used. Recommended USB cable length should be no greater than five meters / sixteen feet. Please contact Foresight Sports Technical Support for assistance
To confirm that the Device Driver is properly installed on your Windows computer, follow these steps:
- Go to START > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
- Make sure that a Driver has been installed by locating the application named "Windows Driver Package - Foresight Sports (WUDFRd)"
- If this file exists, the driver has been correctly installed.
- If this file DOES NOT exist, download the driver from the Foresight Sports DOWNLOADS page and complete the installation process.
-
If the problem still persists, it is likely an issue with the USB input or USB cable. Try moving the USB cable to a different USB port on the computer. If that does not resolve the problem, try conntecting the device with a different USB cable.
If the GC2 does not remain powered on when not plugged directly into a power source.
- A battery issue may exist if the device immediately shuts off when not plugged into the AC adaptor.
- To begin, first confirm that the power adapter is working properly. The power adapter provided by Foresight Sports includes a green LED light that remains lit if properly receiving power. If the green light is not lit during operation, the adapter is not functioning properly. Please contact Foresight Sports Technical Support for a replacement adapter.
- If the power adapter is working properly, connect the device to AC power for 12 hours to recharge the battery.
- If, after following the steps above, the device does not hold a charge when disconnected from the power supply, this indicates that the battery no longer holds a charge. Please contact Foresight Sports Technical Support for details on battery replacement.
Flash Modules are items that require occasional replacement. You may need to replace the flash device on your GC2 if your device is not recognizing shots (displaying dashes) or displaying inconsistent readings.
-
Remove device from any protective enclosure and place on a level floor with the foot/latch properly set to assure correct operation.
-
Before attempting to diagnose the flash module, confirm that your device has not been subjected to static shock by holding down the power button for 6 seconds (until the device powers off) and restarting the device again.
- Place the GC2 on the same level hitting surface as the ball. Confirm that the device recognizes the ball when placed in the hitting zone (as indicated by a solid green light). Proceed with hitting the ball.
> If the device displays DASHED READINGS, the device is working but the flash needs to be replaced. Please replace the flash as instructed in the GC2 Unser Manual.
> If the device DOES NOT RECOGNIZE BALL, consult the section titled “GC2 Device not recognizing the ball/inconstant reading”.
-
If after consulting both of these troubleshooting steps the GC2 still does not respond to shots, please contact Foresight Sports technical support.

- To select an option, navigate with the UP and DOWN arrow keys. To select the desired unit of measure, press the "OK" button until the setting appears.
- With the desired unit of measure selected, press the left most arrow key again to return to the ball-find/play mode.
- Your new settings have been saved and will now be displayed during play.
-
Confirm that the device is fully opened and the foot/latch is properly positioned underneath.
-
Confirm the device is placed on the same level surface as the ball.
-
(If applicable) Confirm that the protective shield (accessory) is properly attached and not obstructing the cameras or ball-lock window.
-
(If applicable) When connected to a Windows computer running Foresight Sports FR1 or FSX software, confirm that "wait for spin" is enabled under the data selection settings.
-
Test the device with a new flash module (or one you are certain is functioning). This will help determine if the flash module is the true cause of the issue.
-
If the flash module is working correctly, please see "Ball Finding & Missed Shots" below.
-
To purchase additional flash modules, please contact Foresight Sports Technical Support.
Ball Finding & Missed Shots
-
The on-screen ball placement aid is only displayed when the device is looking for a ball (the "ball-lock" indicator light will be flashing red). The ball must be placed within the right or left hitting zone (indicated by the trapezoids) for ball lock to occur.
-
Once the GC2 is locked onto a ball, the "ball-lock" light will turn solid green, indicating the ball may now be struck.
-
Light patterns and corresponding meaning:
SLOW (RED) FLASHING: indicates device is looking for ball
FAST (RED) FLASHING: Indicated ball just outside of ball find area, must be moved towards the center of the box
SOLID GREEN: indicates the ball is recognized and the device is ready to be used.
ALTERNATING (RED/GREEN) FLASHING: indicates ball is detected but device cannot establish a lock -
NOTE: When locked on a ball and connected to a Windows computer running FR1 or FSX software via a USB cable, the Foresight Sports logo will appear on the LCD screen.
When locked on a ball and NOT connected to a Windows computer, the previous shot data will appear on the LCD screen.
-
Confirm the ball is appearing within the hitting area on the LCD display.
-
Confirm that the device is fully opened and the foot/latch is properly positioned underneath.
-
Confirm the device is placed on the same level surface as the ball.
-
Confirm nothing is obstructing ball visibility (such as tall grass)
-
(If applicable) Confirm that the protective shield (accessory) is properly attached and not obstructing the cameras or ball-lock window.
-
Test GC2 in both right and left handed positions. If either ball placement zones fails to produce ball lock, please contact Foresight Sports Technical Support.
-
Power off the GC2 device. If connected to a computer, disconnect the USB cord.
-
Wait 5-10 seconds before powering device on again. Do NOT plug the USB cable into the GC2 at this time.
-
Place a ball in the left or right hitting zone
-
If the device successfully locks onto the ball as indicated by a solid green light, but does not display data after ball strike, please consult the topic: “Determining when the Flash Module requires replacement”.

Projector & Image
-
From the MAIN MENU, go to the OPTIONS MENU at the top of the screen.
-
Enter the password "fss01011" to gain access and go to the graphics menu.
-
Set the BRIGHTNESS to 0.81 and the CONTRAST to 1.40.
-
SAVE the applied settings and restart the game. The projected/onscreen image should now be normal.
The projected image may not fill your screen if the resolution is set incorrectly. To correct this:
-
Right-click on the desktop and find “Screen resolution”.
-
Select the projector from the options offered and change the resolution. NOTE: Make sure that the new resolution setting is within the recommended resolutions for the projector or monitor being used.
-
If the projector is still not filling out the screen as desired, confirm that your projector is mounted the correct distance from the screen. DO NOT CHANGE IN-GAME RESOLUTION settings without first changing resolution settings on your computer to insure compatibility with the projector.
Because all projectors are designed to be mounted to a ceiling (inverted) or placed on a level surface, they have a built-in function that allows the image to be flipped to accommodate either orientationn. To correct a flipped image:
-
Go to your projector’s MENU screen (location varies depending manufacture and model) and locate the SETTINGS option.
-
Within the screen settings, select or de-select “Ceiling” mode as needed.
-
Save the setting (if needed). The on-screen image should now be correctly oriented.
Confirm that the computer is properly connected to the monitor and/or projector. Foresight Sports recommends using the same connection-type (such as DVI) if connecting to two monitors or a projector.
-
Once you've confirmed that the monitor and/or projector is properly connected, right-click on the computer desktop and select SCREEN RESOLUTION.
-
If the monitor and/or projector is powered on, it will show as a selectable screen to display the image. If the monitor/projector is not seen here, click “detect” in the upper right near the image of the screens. This will allow the computer to recognize the screen.
-
If not detected, please contact your computer manufacturer.
-
Once the monitor and/or projector has been detected, start the FR1 software.
-
Go to the OPTIONS menu and enter the password “fss01011”.
-
Go to SCREEN SETTINGS and set the resolution for the monitor you are using to match the resolution set on your computer. Confirm that the game is presenting to the correct screen (select from the available monitors seen in the screen settings menu). This will allow the simulation software to run correctly.
If you receive an error message, please refer to the “projector or monitor error messages” area in this section.
-
With FR1 Software NOT running, confirm that the computer is recognizing the projector and/or monitor in the screen resolution screen, accessible by right clicking the desktop. If not, please refer to the “blank screen during game startup" area of this section.
-
Confirm that the projector and/or monitor are set to the recommended screen resolutions. This can be discovered by reviewing the user manual for the given projector or monitor. It is also highly recommended that the same type of inputs for all displays be utilized (HDMI, DVI, VGA, etc.).
-
A "Direct 3D" error message indicates that the software is not properly configured to run on the selected game monitor or projector.
If this occurs:
-
Disconnect (including any adaptor) the projector or monitor that is producing the error from the computer.
-
Restart the computer running only the properly working projector or monitor.
-
Restart the FR1 software.
-
If the error occurs again, repeat the above process but use the other monitor or projector this time.
-
Once the FR1 software is running, go to the OPTIONS menu at the top of the MAIN MENU screen and enter the options screen using the password "fss01011".
-
Go to the “Screen Settings” and select the recommended screen resolution for the current projector or monitor (This can be found in the user manual from the projector or monitor). Select the monitor or projector.
-
Run the game to confirm that the monitor or projector is working correctly.
-
Exit the game.
-
Re-connect the other monitor or projector to the computer. Right-click on the desktop and go to the Screen Resolutions settings. You should see the two screens both plugged into the computer at this point. If not, select “detect” in the upper right of the screen, the computer may not identify the new display. Once both screens are recognized by the computer confirm that both are set to the manufacturer's recommended resolutions.
-
Go back into the game, go to the OPTIONS menu at the top of the MAIN MENU screen and enter the options screen using the password "fss01011".
-
Go to the "Screen Settings" and select the second monitor/projector
-
Change the resolution to match the recommended screen resolution. You can try to set the game to show on the projector at this point.
If the game still will not show on the screen at this point, change all settings to the lowest resolution settings (800x600 resolution).
-
Confirm that your Windows computer meets the minimum SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS stated above.
-
Confirm that no other software is running while attempting to run the FR1 software, as this may slow performance.
-
If the computer meets the proper system requirements, check the graphic settings. This can be done by going into the OPTIONS menu at the top of your MAIN MENU screen in the FR1 Software. Enter the password "fss01011" to gain access. In the Graphics option, go to the top of the screen and reset the graphics settings to "balanced". If already set to "balanced" change to "minimum".
-
If this still does not resolve the problem, we recommend installing the latest update to the software in the Downloads section.
Connections
-
On your Android device, go to the SETTINGS menu and select WIRELESS CONNECTION
-
In the BLUETOOTH manager, turn Bluetooth on.
-
While the GC2 is turned on, locate the SERIAL NUMBER of the device (located on the label underneath). Select the device with that SERIAL NUMBER to pair with it. If prompted for a code, enter four zeros (0000).
-
Open the Foresight Sports Performance app. Locate the GC2 device you wish to connect to and press and hold until “CONNECT” appears. NOTE: Connection times vary by device.
The device should now be successfully paired and connected to the Foresight Sports Android Application.
